Celebrate the first annual Viva Big Bend Food Festival at the Saddle Club and the Granada!
Join us for an amazing lineup of new menu items, expertly mixed cocktails, and live music performances.
On Thursday, April 4th, we’ll be kicking off this weekend’s festivities at 6:30 pm with a very special cocktail hour, featuring Texas’ own David Alan; a professional bartender, mixologist, and author of The Tipsy Texan. Along with fifteen years’ experience in the bartending and restaurant industry, David is also the proud winner of numerous accolades, including a nomination for the prestigious James Beard Award while consulting for the acclaimed Esquire Tavern in San Antonio.
Later in the evening, The Granada will be hosting an Opening Gala, beginning at 7:30 pm and lasting until 11:00 pm. We’ll be featuring hors d’oeuvres and sample menu items from sixteen restaurants established within the tri-county area. Live music will be provided by not only Dale Watson, but also by Tessy Lou and the Shotgun Stars. This is a great way to plan your dining experience throughout the rest of the weekend, as well as to listen to some unbelievable music! Still not tired? Alpine’s infamous Railroad Blues will be hosting an after-party, featuring a very special 18year anniversary commemorative concert performed by Austins’ Mike and the Moonpies.
Friday’s fun begins at The Saddle Club with a 5:30 pm cocktail course, hosted by guest mixologist David Alan: learn how to mix drinks like a professional from one of Texas’ finest. Afterwards, continue the festivities with our very own Five Course Tasting Menu. Each course will be exquisitely paired with wine, expertly chosen from the portfolio of Pioneer wine, and brought to you by Britania Perez. Definitely a meal not to be missed! Due to limited seating, reservations are required. Watch out for the release of the official menu release, occurring Friday, March 29th. Late evening entertainment will be provided once more by the Railroad Blues, including live musical performances by the one and only Los Pinche Gringos, Cory Morrow, and Alpines’ infamous Doodlin’ Hogwallops.
Saturday fun begins at 1:00 pm! Join The Saddle Club and Justin Reyes, the Glazier wine representative for the Big Bend region. Justin will be discussing varying wines from yet another excellent portfolio. Afterwards, at 2:00, we’ll be hosting a Grand Finale cooking class and demonstration, hosted by Monica Pope. Once again, seating is limited. Make your reservation today! The dazzling Britania Perez will be making one more appearance at 4:00 pm, offering tastings and education about different wines brought to you by Pioneer. Don’t forget to check out the Rail Road Blues for their evening of great music with Gram Wilkinson and Patrice Pike and the one and only place you can get the legendary Shangri-La Sangria.
Regardless of your plans and any point during Viva Big Bend Food Festival weekend, please feel free to stop by and enjoy The Saddle Club’s brand new spring menu. Ask your server for weekend specials.
